is what I like to make, but find myself spending too much time on PC to get any playing done...
Help!

Me too. I'm always downloading demo software, checking out reviews of gear I don't need and can't afford, I end up playing frickin' Free Cell whilst listening to my Sonar creations....What we lack is ambition and drive. Maybe we should give ourselves some deadlines and specific goals. I think collaboration would also help; if we had someone over working on a tune or two, we would be less likely to be screwin' around on the PC. And what about that lust for equipment thing that is so distracting?! How does one get rid of that? Boy, if I just had that Les Paul I saw in the store the other day it would surely inspire me to create some music, I would leave the rest of you slackers in the dust.

I joined a band.

As a result, my online time has gone from about 5 hours a day to half an.

I also spend much less time gaming, prefering to practice so that I don't sux0r at the next meeting.

We are doing a mega Beatles night in a month's time. I'm scared to even think about it, and is not helped by the fact that the Beatles is probably among the toughest bands to cover realistically, and general lack of skill and talent is a major worry.

Oh, well, I used to complain about lack of practice. Guess I can't anymore.

Plus, work has gotten real hectic...

me in a nutshell as well.

well, I have a nice gibson les and it doesn't keep me from procrastinating...
What I'm going to try to do is go out into the world to do some found noise recordings. Bring a stereo mic and a portable dat or minidisc and try my own Tomorrow Never Knows.

and I think online collaboration does do wonders. Especially if it's with someone you don't know. You don't want to look like an a-hole to a complete stranger so you get your work done. just a thought.
