i was listening to this trying to figure out what i thougth was wrong with the mix and was going to offer some hopefully constructive feedback. then i realized not only do you not want help on your mix, but you are overly defensive and have a bad attitude :(

my 25 year old self did not find it funny.. i just find it kind of immature. i do hear stuff like this on the radio though. i just never laugh at it.

first off.. this is the mixing clinic. don't be harsh to people for commenting on the mix if you post in the mixing clinic. if the song is unfinished and not mixed down all the way then don't post it in the mixing clinic. this forum is for advice on mixing.

and the comedy thing. i could write 2 comedy songs a day easily. its kind of cheating to write comedy. you don't have to invest anything into it. just find a clever line, hook it, and bam you got a comedy song. the music is less important than the snazzy joke. midi drums/keyboard set to vocals works just fine even on the radio if the joke is good. if you think your momma jokes are clever and one liners about odd sexual encounters are funny that is fine but don't expect to be hailed as a comedy genious with material like that :(

good comedy is enjoyed by people of all ages and ethnicities. if you have to explain your jokes away as "this large demographic will not find it funny because they weren't raised in the same middle class environment as me" its not that demographic's fault. it is your own fault for writing a joke that they cannot relate to.

but if your goal is to make drunk frat boys laugh as they are listening to college radio at an aftergame party then why are you even posting it on the home recording BBS? go be a drunk frat boy hero! cheers! but the bottom line is the mix sucks and the joke is lame and theres your critique.
 
Seriously, this sounds like shit, mixed or not, and whoever is singing sounds like shit. The whole tryna do the Staind-esque lyrics and harmony failed miserably, any radio station that plays this must play it during the "fucked up music hour with as many commercial interruptions as possible" .

Plain and simple, its shit.
 
Possibly the most ignorant person on the internet.. thats a pretty big accomplishment. This was a realy stupid place to claim that non of us would have had songs on the radio.. hell, I'm 17 and I've done that... played a few live sets too. It's no big deal mate. also, no amount of mixing is going to make that song sound good. you can't polish a turd

The turd polisher's greatest achievement is that he posted a turd with just enough stink on it to keep this thread alive through 70 replies. :o I feel like an ass for having posted to it at least twice. But the first page and a half were just so damn funny, I couldn't help it. Oh, and just so you know, it's not him I thought was funny, only a bit lame.
 
I think learning how to polish a turd is one of the home recordist's most important skills. The old CICO (crap in, crap out) equation should be challenged wherever possible, because many of us can't help the crap in part.

its ok.. if i wanted to listen to sampled reason drums with huge cymbals, and some guy totally out of tune saying fukcing your face.

if the guitar wriffs were...present... to some extent i might enjoy some sort of feel and then get the humour.

we dont like it. we dont like you, and your stupid face. :-P

Mine too, after I stopped laughing for 10 minutes! But seriously, aren't Turd Boy's 15 minutes of fame up like 3 days ago? I think it's time to let this thread die a horrible, flaming bag of shit death ;)
 
I see there is a lot of commotion here, so I tried to listen without readin gto much of it and making my own opinion.

Thnig that botters me is the vocalis: irritating voice and way out of tune. I can't really judge any mixing abilities this way, because I find myself unable to listen much longer. Rerecord it with another singer and I'll listen again.
 
I would just like to add that the other mp3's on that site aren't much better.
