hey all, hope this is the correct forum to ask.

I've been using Cubase and EZDrummer for a while now, but have gotten Pro Tools to start learning. I'm trying to figure out how to setup ezdrummer so I can utilize the multichannel mixing, to have 8 channels of drums...Bass, Snare Top, Snare Bottom, Toms, Etc...

So far I've setup EZDrumemr as a stero insert on an instrument channel, but then I'm stuck..how do I setup the mutiple channels for each drum/mic on the set, so I can mix and add plugins on indivdual drums?

All help is welcome! I'm slowly trying to learn PT on my own, and this is the first of many obstacles.

Thanks!

can anyone lend some words or wisdom here?

I've tried figuring it out for 2 days, no luck...any suggestions would help please.

bump - I want to know too !

I only know how to get the Stereo out..... multi-channel would make life easier.

Ok, depends on what EZD kit you are using, so I'll stick to the rock kit. It has 8 output channels. Go in to the EZD mixer and select the output field of any track, you'll see the option for multiple outputs, select multi. You'll see that the output changed on the bottom of the mixer. Create 7 aux tracks (I keep the kick on the original instrument track) with the inputs corresponding to the outputs from the mixer and you're in business.

That's just to give you an understanding of how it works in PT. Now if you want to make it easier on yourself, go out to ToonTracks and download the template for it.....

Thanks for your help!

I didn't realize that all the AUX tracks had to be stereo...I was putting in mono aux tracks for the snare and drums...but now it's all worked out!
