EZDrummer Questions

Hello There,

Im planning to get the EZDrummer software from Toontrack and I was wondering if its possible that I program the drums in GuitarPro5 and export them into a midi file and import the midi file in Cubase LE and use the Drum sounds in EZDrummer so that the drums I programmed would sound real?

dont know anything about the guitar thing but in cubase you can import a midi file and trigger ez's samples yes... it may be a little frustrating at first though until you get used to the way the sounds are mapped... ie. the kick is on which note# in the first prog and a different # in the second maybe...

i need help really bad with ezdrummer
i have it all working and everything but i have no clue what to do next
i plan on using it to play and record original drums that i wrote as its easier than according acoustic drums. what do i have to do in order to accomplish this i basically know nothing about this kind of programming. please help this is very frustrating.

I have EZdrummer and yes you can trigger the sounds by using the midi editor in the cubase program. Ez also has its own midi beats already made, all you have to do is drag and drop into the program. in the midi editor of cubase (i'm using sonar), you can write in the drum beats of what you want. i think it is very easy to do, just a lot of patience.

You CAN use a midi file from another editor like GuitarPro, but you might be limiting ezdrummer. They use an expanded form of General Midi that is basically proprietary to ezdrummer. They put in extra stuff like cymbal chokes, different hi-hat positions, etc. that are not mapped in GM. You would be missing out on them.

As mentioned already, just drag and drop the ezdrummer groove files onto your midi track where you want it in Cubase. It's that simple. You can then double click on the midi file and it will open up in the midi editor and you can make changes as desired.

My suggestion is: if you are looking for real sounding drums, use the ezdrummer files. It has a humanize feature that gives it a real feel.
