Wtf is a PRS
Am i crazy or dream this up, but i thought i had read somewheres that you can connect hook up an electronic drum kit to a computer and a person can play the kit and trigger the ezdrummer samples in a daw?

IF so outside of the kit itself and the computer and daw of choice is there other pieces of equipment needed to do this?

Or have i been fed misinforation?

Yeah thats exactly how it's done. That's how I did everything I ever recorded. Even the bands that come to my house to record, I make em play my vdrums instead of mic'ing up real drums... They're not enthusiastic at first, they have no idea, ignorance.. Then they hear some of my past stuff and then they love it! No acoustic probs, no phase probs, just pure unadulterated awesomeness :D

All you need is a midi interface (I have an m-audio midisport 2x2) and a midi cable and you're in biz. And the midi capable electronic drums of course.. I had my setup running in 5 minutes.

HOWEVER - there is some lag / latency.. So when tracking, I listen to the audio off the module, which sounds like shit compared to ezd.. But whatever - I'm actually recording the midi, not the audio.

Awesome thanks.

I may have to get a new interface. The Fast Track USB doesnt have a midi in.

Crap...

you dont need a whole new audio interface, you can just get one of those usb-midi cables off ebay for $15, or a 1 channel midisport or whatever for like $30.
