EZbus Mic Pre quality?

Hey folks . . .

Here's my story.

I am making the jump from recording with a Roland VS840 to a full blown computer setup. I'm going to be using SonarXL and I just picked up an EZbus off of Ebay to use on the front end as a digital input and as a midi control surface for the software.

As far as mics, I'll be using an Alesis AM51 for vocals, a Neumann KM84i for acoustic stuff, and my trusty ol' SM57 on the guitar cab.

My question is . . . how are the mic pre's on the EZbus? With the Roland, I was using an ART Tube Mp for the condensers but it will probably now be relegated to use as a DI for bass.

Can I get by with just plugging the Alesis or the Neumann straight into the EZbus? Are its mic pre's in the same class as say, a Mackie board ?

. . . or do I need to invest in something to run the mics through prior to the EZbus ? (RNMP, Joe Meek, etc.)

Any thoughts ?
