When your friends get there and plug in and all that, just say: "This is blues riff in B, watch me for the changes...and try to keep up ok!"

Thanks

Sweet Home Alabama

Thats all i can think of off the top of my head, more to come.

These are good suggestions and you refrained from talking about anyone's mother, sister or ez_willis. That is to be commended! :D

Everyone plays in other bands too, but once or twice a year we gather on an island, where someone's got a huge cabin, and start drinking and barbequing, and jamming. :D
Everyone's got a riff or something, a chant, or maybe just an interesting noise out of his instrument.. Something he wants to contribute..drunk as mules we just get on with that.

We usually get a 8 to ten songs recorded on the island.. some good, some really messed-up-drunk-in-the-4-AM-kinda voodoo..

But it's always fun as hell!! and big 6feet-220pound geezers in the verge of tears hugging for goodbyes on departure, with a 3-day bender hung-overs :o
Is this one of those Survivor type shows with a slightly musical twist? An island...
And exactly how drunk are mules?

I say take all of those parts and make a great and chaotic musical collage. Don't forget random Slayer riffs!

Whenever I see EZ I think of kindness, love and good virtue of every sort.

Issues

I have some problems with this tale

I play bass in an acoustic folk-oriented band-sort-of-a-thingie.. (besides the metalbands)
You play in an acoustic folk band and also play metal?

Just some random island, or do you know where you are?

Do you know this "someone"?

Just messing with you. It sounds like a good time in some brokeback survivor island sort of way... :D

No, but if I did we would be drunk as mules

Muhah!!! :D

Yes, I meet those dudes occasionally here and there, the island is in lake Saimaa and owned by a friends family. The band is kinda-sort of folk, acoustic metal sounds weird.. Others play in rock-metal bands too, It's a nice change. :D

Ahh, why wasn't I born Finnish?
Is Finland the "land of 1,000 lakes"?

I owe all the limited knowledge I have on Scandanavian countries (and the other countries in the area) to Death/Doom/Black metal... :D

Let's just be really careful on the alcohol intake for beasts of burden, umkay?

Allen - Great movie reference there!

I always used to jam to "Hey Joe" - C G D A E

Freebird!!!

Another visitor of the uncharted island where metal folk reigns supreme!!

Do you also get drunk like a mule?? :D

I agree with Purge. Wish You Were Here by the Floyd has a very easy chord progression. C D Am G , and variations of that. Try it out.

Isn't that Minnesota?

Minnesota is referred to as that, Cellar is right about Finland too. Also Poland has a refference to Land of Thousand Lakes. :D
