External sound card/box

Hi,

Could somebody please suggest some external firewire sound card/box?

The goal we're trying to accomplish is ULTRA LOW latency and well quality 4 inputs.

check out the m-audio line on any music retailer website (samash.com, zzounds.com, sweetwater.com, look for ASIO drivers ...they seem to have the lowest latency.

I would be interested in this too. Going overseas for a period of time, need one to plug it in to my laptop.
My priorities are
1) stability
2) low latency
3) nice sounding preamps (hopefully as gd as my m-audio dmp3)
4) usb 2.0 / firewire interface

Talked with one guy about m audio for recording and he said "stay away", get RME. So then I went into checking RME and got to this:

So while this is more expensive solution, it seems everybody that got it are more then absolutely pleased with its performance, sound quality and latency. So that one is currently on the top of my list.

I've used m-audio for several years with no problems, but the RME you are looking at is also a fine piece of gear too!

How about the M-Audio Firewire Solo? How is it? For this product, there is a local dealer and warranty so I feel safer getting this.
