Question. Can I record on an external mixer and send it to the BR900?

If you can get it from the mixer to your PC as a WAV file (or your mixer is already DAW), you can import the WAV to the BR900. I found this in the BR900 brochure :

I think my 900 is outdated. I followed the manual and the 900 went thru the progress but my book say compatible with Windows Me/200/XP but I have windows 10.

Your 900 was also capable of doing this with CDs, but it may not be possible with your Win 10 setup. Maybe consider moving to a PC based DAW (requires audio interface).

I'm looking into interfaces now to see if they will work. Any suggestions on brands?

For a compatible interface look at the Native Instruments KA6* it works on just about every platform and OS variant including Linux. I would expect the M2 to be similarly flexible.
The cheaper KA2 is probably the same.

Dave.
