Do you HAVE to use the CD-R drive to export WAV files from the VF16? Or can I use an Iomega Zip or Jaz drive? Thanks in advance.

Exporting WAVs from VF16

You can use a SCSI Zip drive. That's how I do it.

the Iomega Jaz SCSI 2gb drive is looking quite nice to me as an alternative to the Plextor drive... the Plextor is a nice drive i'm sure, but overpriced in my opinion

Iomega makes a SCSI to USB adapter for the Jaz drive, so I wont need to add a SCSI card to my PC to transfer those WAVs, as I already have a CDRW drive in my PC

If anyone out there knows of any pitfalls to this approach, please let me know, much appreciated

I have a friend who does it this way and apart from the Jaz drives being pretty unreliable, it seems to work ok.
Good luck

unreliable in what way exactly? i've never heard about the Jaz drives being unreliable. i HAVE heard about them making awful noises and going bad after years of abuse/smoke/dust/etc

Not sure exactly but the first drive he got just completely failed. ?

sorry - cant be much more help than that
