I am trying to make a CD of hymns for the family. It’s the best I can do for this Christmas, gifts-wise. Use a Roland MP300 with Tascam-122, Cubase LE4 4.13, Widows XP SP3.

I recorded the hymn I want. Now when I want to export the Cubase project I am running into problems.

I set up the left and right locators for the area I want to mix down.
Pull down the File menu and selected “Audio Mixdown…” from the Export submenu.
Set up the location of the output file, the format (WAV), stereo, etc.

What I get is a silent WAV file.

I have no idea where I am going wrong.

Please help. Christmas is coming next week.

TIA

Classic mistake.:D

You have your left and right locators mixed up.

Cheers

I am a novice, but I read the manual, watched several videos for the steps needed to export ... somewhere I am leaving out a step or something... it's killing me.

Yes it will be red if it is wrong.

Figured it out. Simple, now that I am learning more about Cubase. I was exporting a MIDI.... doh! Once I discovered VSTs, the whole thing became clear. Did the CD with only HALionOne, 'cose that's all I had. Not bad for a first effort. Everybody enjoyed the hymns. Of course, now I am looking to buy some good quality "grands." Been looking at Steinberg, Synthogy, Native Instruments....

Thanks to all you folks for sharing your knowledge with us newbies.

Andrew
