hi guys!

i have an eventide eclipse and i've been trying to find an expression pedal that works with it. I've tried a few - the last being a yamaha fc7, but no luck - nearly all the sweep is in the first few degrees of movement of the pedal. This is despite the fact it seems to meet the eventide specs - i.e. a linear pot between 5k and 20k.

I asked the guys at eventide for help but they were useless - they said they dont take questions on other manufacturers and cant recommend a brand/model pedal that works... they say on their site:

'The Pedal's Potentiometer should be around 10K (5K - 20K), with track connected between ring and sleeve and slider connected to tip. It will have a stereo 1/4" jack. As long as these values are respected and calibration is executed, ANY brand pedal will work fine. '

can anyone help me out? ....any idea why this yamaha pedal doesnt work? or what will work?

really hope someone can help me here!

thanks for reading,

sache

This would seem to indicate that the pot in the Yamaha pedal may not be linear

Are there any settings within the Eclipse that will allow you to tailor it to the pedal?

Otherwise, you just have to keep trying out different pedals until you find one that works.

hi thanks for the replies guys,

eventide say:

i know the pot in the yamaha is 10k but maybe its not linear - or maybe the connector isnt as eventide specify?
im trying yamaha tech support but no luck so far...

if the pot is not linear - does anyone know if its possible to mod easily?
