Event TR-8 Distortion...

A little under a year ago, I bought a pair of Event TR-8s, and I have recently noticed a distortion (disgusting high-mid crunchy fuzz) in (only) one of them when something like a distorted guitar, or something with a lot of high midrange, is monitored through them. It is less noticable when a whole mix is playing, but it is VERY noticable when a guitar track is solo'd.

Could this be a tweeter problem, or anything of that nature?

Anyways, thanks in advance for any advice.
 
Yeah, it could be. You can check by swapping the wires from the soundcard to opposite sides; if it follows the wires, it's a soundcard problem. If it stays in the same monitor, you might need to have it looked at. Are they still under warranty?

Yeah, I have tried swapping the wires, as well as the power cords, but with no luck. I am pretty sure they are still under warranty, would I want to take 'em back to Guitar Center, or send 'em back through Event?
 
Awesome, man, thanks. Are there any other little tests that I could run, maybe just to try to identify the problem?
