Hi,

So far I'm liking CEP a lot but I've had trouble finding answers to a couple of questions.

1. Can I split a stereo wave file into 1 or 2 mono tracks? Is the process the same procedure as converting a mono track to stereo (copying the wave to another empty track)?

2. Can I deselect the "dither" option without impacting the functionality of the program when mixing down? I prefer to dither at the end of all processing to include mastering?

3. How do I select mono recording? In settings I see R/L/stereo and 16 bit / 32 bit. Is the R/L option the mono setting depending upon which input I'm using?

4. I'm hearing a discernable difference in the quality of my tracks in CEP compared to the 24bit recording and mixing I was doing with my old software. Is this the 32bits?

5. If I select the option of automatically converting all new tracks to 32bit when I import them, is there any advantage to converting tracks generated at 16bits to 24bit before import?

I'm sure I'll have many more questions but these are just a few that I've been unable to find an answer for in "help".

Thanks,
Rusty K

Ok....so you don't like those questions. That's ok I've answered a couple of them by trial and error.

Here's one that's really bugging me! How do I adjust the insert point of a wave file? I've tried zooming in to the point and moving and clicking the zero point where I want it then wave file properties to type in the right offset time. This proved very hit or miss and at the end I wound up with all my tracks out of sync so I had to close session.

I'm unable to find it in the help file. Without CEP terminology I'm helpless. Cues? Markers? What?

Can't I just drag the file? That would be too easy!

Update!

I must be going nutZ! I'm talking to myself.

Forget the questions! I'm slowly figuring it out but I must say the destructions aren't as clear as they could be. They just don't realize how dumb I am.

CEP may have made a sale tonight....we'll see. I'm gonna give this baby the best trial and error hunt and peck evaluation I can but I'm finding a lot of neat stuff for someone like me.
