EV CO4 as Tom Mics?

I just picked up three EV CO4 microphones locally for roughly the price of one new one.. I was just wondering, as I have no way to try them out because I am waiting on my new interface at the moment, if anybody has ever tried these out as tom mics and if they fit the bill at all. I'm sure I can find a purpose for them, but toms would be first hope..

I really liked to mic a ride with this mic, it picked up the bell really well. I never made it to a tom, but I should have tried it.

Sorry, I never tried them specifically as a tom mike, but I do love the CO4 !
It has to be the best bargain in an all-around mike around.
