Ev 670a ??

This mic was given to my studio partner in a box of old cheap mics and assorted other old electronic stuff. I tried it out and was unimpressed with its performance for everything I tried it on except......guitar amp miking. I never thought I would find a mic I liked better for guitar cabs than the SM57, but this thing sounds (to my ear) just awesome on guitar cabs.

I have searched the net for more info and came up with zero, zip, nada. none on ebay last time I looked or anything. I have never seen another one like it, so if anybody can tell me anything about it, ecpecially where to find another one, I'd appreciate it.

EV 670 data sheet

Hi,

coutant.org has a data sheet available for the EV 670

They list it as a cardiod dynamic. Vintage EVs interest me. Many excellent mics.

Thanks hairy, that's the first piece of data I've seen, at least I know it exists now

I sure do wish I could find another one or two to keep around, I really like the way it sounds on cabs, especially 10" celestions with some crunch going on. Really nice.
