Heres what I want to do..
I have some bands that want to record some demo tapes, mostly the ones I work with...

I wanna buy a Behringer SL2442FX-PRO Mixer... This is $449.99USD.(And I can get it somewhat cheaper at guitar center)...

Why so many channels?
Everything is gonna be done "live"

Drums
Guitar1
Guitar2
Bass
Keyboards

All in one so theres 12 imputs... plus room to grow...

Vocals will be done seprately...

If there anything better for me in this price range?

I want to have atleast 16 mono imputs...

You should get the Yamaha MG24 its a lot better board with a lot better pres. You'll give me a free CD for this.

it also costs twice as much though deepwater...the yamaha mg24 is like $899
