A Focusrite Green Voicebox for 370$?

Seen second hand on an Audio Shop's page...

Aren't these thing a lot more expensive normally?

It's not a bad price. Usually, you could expect to pick one up off ebay for $400 or more.

Keep in mind the Green series is only a small step up from the platinum range.

We're still not talking Red or blue, here. :D

And it's butt-ugly, to boot.

I totally agree on the butt-ugly thing =)

But, I used it before, just once. And well... we actually got some nice results with it.

BTW.. I would just use it for the preamp (and maybe EQ). I just ordered a pair of RNC's.

I thought this thing used to be more expensive. The guy who owned it told me it costed about 1100$ :D But then again, he was full of hot air :D

No, he's not full of hot air. That's probably what he (over)paid for it. When they first came out, they were all the rage. Unfortunately, since then, the market's been flooded with similarly good options for much less. It's not a bad box -- just overpriced. Not even sure if it's any better than their platinum range. It's since been discontinued for that reason.

If you're just looking for the best possible pre in that range, I would think the Grace Design 101 would be the way to go . . . or you could wait a month or so on the RNP. Either should pair really nicely with your RNC's.

Well.. he wasn't really full of air :D He was a friend of mine in college. It was meant in a friendly, smiley way ;)

Ok, i'll read up some on the Grace 101
