LOL

Her name was Stephanie
She drank herbal tea
But not the kind you could buy in the store
She special ordered it
The only one I knew was St John's wort

Oh yeah... the goddess...
I don't really know how to describe the goddess
I... uh... sort of imagine Tori Amos
But up in the sky

LOL

The last verse is magic. "She b(r)ought it from her dad I don't think she ever knew just what she had"

Look, you write really good tunes. Sorta like Beck meets Loudon Wainwright III.

If you ever get tired of people's usual reaction to your stuff, get a band that plays in time and sings in tune and watch what happens. I like it the way it is, but one of the things I've learned on this board is how important PRESENTATION is. And this place is tolerant...

Good song. If we get peared, there'll be tears, I know it. Tears of laughter...

Well holy cow...

I'm glad you were looking through the backpages....

But overall, I'm a songwriter, that's what floats my boat.
I know my timing is terrible, and the playing is questionable at best, the singing thing is the result of a huge mental block ( I sing fairly well until the red light goes on...).

And I always hoped that someone would see through the wrapping to the song underneath.

Thanks, dobro. You have truly made my day.

The dreaded home page

P.S. - if we don't get paired, I'd be happy to colloborate after the contest. After I get through HOW exactly to colloborate online (ftp site maybe?). And after I buy a bass. And after my daughter's upcoming birthday party.

Hey Eric -- I remember trying to listen to one of your last time but couldn't (can't stream in lo-fi) ... You should post it on NWR ... I want to hear this tune!

:D

ROFL, I just listened to Stephanie. It kind of reminds me of a Ben Folds tune on crack. I liked it.

I think Dobro's right. You've got some good ideas but you definately need some musical help. It's almost surreal how clean of a recording you got with such crappy playing. I mean all of that in the best way possible. Keep at it.

Baby Sometimes is cool. You've got some really creative arrangements going on and some risky chord progressions. It's kinda like Cat Stevens meets Joe Jackson.

If you can get a better handle on timing and pitch issues this stuff will be pretty cool. The engineering isn't bad. Some of the sounds are a little thin and cheap but overall it has a great feel. I like your vocal sound (I'd stick a bit more compression on it though).

I'm with TexRoadkill all over....nice quirky songs, but the overall sound and performance doesn't help.

As a musician I'm cringing (meant in the nicest possible way :) ) but as a fellow quirky pop composer I'm full of respect....

Aaaaah, finally something I can cover for the HRC2 (don't hold your breath for it, though...I hardly have time)
