OK Guys, huge newbie here. I'm a tuba player looking to buy some recording gear and was hoping if anyone can point me in the right direction. What I want to do is to be able to record in one of my spare bedrooms and edit the recording to where it "sounds" professional. However, I do not plan to sell these recordings (as if there is a great market for tuba playing - yeah, right!) so I'm not looking for high-end equipment.
What I'm looking for is mic's, computer sound cards, editing software. I'm using Audacity only because it was free but when I add a little reverb, it makes it sound as though I'm playing in a metal box and not in a concert/recital hall. Maybe i'm not doing something right as far as software settings...I don't know. At any rate, I'll need some sort of software, or device that will be able to handle this.
My budget is about $500, but I don't want to spend that much if I don't have to.
TIA!!!
Kevin
