hey,

So after spending some time on this forum and reading several magazines. I have made up a list off the things I think I will need and has some quality.

What I want to do is make beats and recorde vocals. I want to be able to connect my keyboard and electric guitar and 2 mic's.
I'm thinking to get the following:
  • yamaha MG 12/4(after hearing how much you guys liked the behringer ub series)
  • Alesis monitor one mk2 active
  • delta 66
  • behringer b2 Pro mic

Whould this be a good setup for my goals?
 
I like RØDE mics. Mics from Project Studios get a lot of good buzz around here.
 
There aren't many fans of the Alesis monitors around here - I was very happy when I swapped mine for Wharfedales. Just about anything else in that price range would be better than the Alesis. You could also get a better mic than the Behri for the money. Like apl says Rode makes nice mikes but they tend to harshness (I have an NTK, and have to be very careful with it on a female voice) and are a bit more expensive.

The Yammie mixer is an excellent buy.
 
ok, so the monitors and mic has gotta go, since you al recomend rode, is the nt-1 a any good and for the monitors, I saw some good comments on the krk v4 are these better then the alesis?
 
One mic is always going to have its shortcomings but the NT1A is a lot better than the Behri. Most of us started with an SM58 (and still use it!).

The krk's will be better, but you really need to get out and listen to a few. Tannoy Reveals, Behri Truths (about the only decent thing Behri make), Wharfedale 8.2's are also all worthwhile. It took me a while to learn to hear the differences tho...
 
I am just starting. I am starting out with a studio projects b1 mic.
