when i try to bring up the eq ,i can't access it when i go into individual tracks i can use it but it has no effect on the sound any info will help .....thanks in advance

maybe you are not correctly applying EQ to the target track(s)?

To patch a real-time EQ effect onto an individual track, right-click in the square black area at the top of the track's channel in the Console View. Then, select the EQ plug-in you wish to use (i.e. cakewalk). After you do this the plug-in name should appear in the square black area. Now, double-click the plug-in name to bring up the control dialogue for that effect, and twiddle accordingly, then click OK.

When you playback the track, it should now perform as expected. If you wish to patch a single effect onto multiple tracks, consider using an AUX bus to route them.

This, like most everything I post, is in the docs. (but then how will I ever get my post-count up if people RTFM? hee hee)

Heinz, Seattle ROCKS!! Im in Yakivegas.(nuff said) Hey lester and chester or whatever, I dont like that eq in the console view so i highlight the track(piece) that i want to eq then go to the edit fx area and choose eq, its easier i think because its just like a ten band you do right there and audition.

cakewalk has both parametric and graphic equalizers. i think most people find themselves using the parametric to fix issues with their tracks. the problem with using the graphic equalizer is that you are applying that EQ destructively. If you path the EQ into your track FX chain then you can make changes whenever you want.

i've really only used the graphic eq for some post mix EQ, but not much at all.

i don't really like cakewalk's eq much anyway, i prefer to use ultrafunk or dsp-fx.

thanks
