Are Epiphone tunomatics a different size than gibson ones? Drawing the squier/fender comparison. I have a hollowbody with the rosewood base tunomatic. The thing rattles and has started to really bum me out. I just want to make sure that I can buy a nice replacement and have it fit the way it's supposed to.

Would something like this drop in:

Or these:

or these:

I feel like I may have already asked this. Sorry if I did. My brain has dried out from lack of alcohol.

dont quote me, but i believe they are the same size. measure it and see what the string spread is.

I don't think I could measure accurately enough to tell a squier strat trem was different hole spacing than USA until I tried to fit it.

I read something about "metric" ones, but I assumed that was the threads to screw it into the studs. I don't know if the rosewood one even has threads.

As far as the dimensions (width) of the bridge, or the threads of the adjusters?

I can't see how they can fool around too much on the string spacing and whatnot because the pickups align with both, don't they?

i bought a wraparound bridge for an epiphone and it fit just fine.

Just my 2 cents,

I have always preferred a compensated wood bridge to a Tune-O-Matic on my archtops. The lower mass of the wood bridge allows the top to vibrate better. I prefer the way that sounds. It only takes a little tweaking to get acceptable intonation.

Gibson never uses Tune-O-Matics on their high-end archtops, and they are played by folks with very critical ears.

i have ordered a couple of replacement tuneomatics for different guitars, ive replaced my own and a couple for some friends. they were from "all parts" i think.
at the time they only had one size available for either gibson or epiphone or any tuneomatic style guitar. im not promising they will fit yours due to the whole metric vs standard deal, but all of mine worked.

i got the kind that comes with totally flat saddles and used some needle files to make the string groves, which took only a few minutes and came out a lot better than the stock epiphone ones. the stock ones are really deep and i was always taught to keep the grooves mellow like you would see on an acoustic or archtop.

my stock ones never rattled, but they would literally cut strings after only a short time, always right at the saddle. none of my other guitars were having the problem and i play them the same way, which is to say pretty mellow. the other guys i know all had the same exact thing happening, and on new epiphones, 335's, les paul's, etc.

if you contact a dealer they will tell you if it fits your guitar im sure, and its around 35 us dollars or so for a new bridge. they had silver or gold at the time, mebbe black as well.

good luck!
