Epiphone Elitist SG 61 Reissue

What's this button do?
All I have to say is "WOW!"

OK, maybe a little more. This thing is frickin' amazing! Right out of the box this thing was virtually perfect, and the only reason I say virtually is because I haven't found anything to complain about yet. It is the ebony model they are clearancing at MF for $600 w/case. The craftsmanship on this thing is like no Epi I have ever seen. I am just stunned at the value of this guitar. It matches well with my Vox AD50VT, and we will see if the magic continues when I pick up the 2X12 Mesa cabinet next week. I am floored.

Just thought I would share my elation.

Epiphones are great

You got a deal on a great guitar. MF is blowing out the Epi's right now.

I recently picked up a Goth G400 and was amazed by how good it was. I was planning to replace the PU's right away, but the stock Pups sound pretty good. I am still in amazement. For years I stayed away from Epi's because of the headstock shape. Although I still don't care for the shape of the headstock, it is growing on me.

My next purchase will be a Epi LP Elite Standard no doubt.

Yeah, the Elitist series is a whole different ball game than their regular stuff. Full on Gibson quality, actually better than some of the lower-end Gibsons. So does the 61 have P90's or humbuckers?

Dual Gibson USA made Humbuckers. I was planning on changing them before I heard them, and now I am not so sure. They sound really great, and they are very quiet noise-wise regardless of the volume.

One of the interesting things is that the setup on the top of the line Epis is quite a bit better than the setup on most of the Nashville built Gibsons. My Samick built Casino was perfect right out of the box, and my Gibson SG Supreme took 3 months to get right. For the price of a guitar like that, that's pathetic.-Richie

Crap, if I had just been RIF'ed at my job (Reduction In Force) I would get one. Grrrrr..........

Congrats!
