I am new to recording, I just finished recording my first few tracks, using pro tools version 6.4. Now, I cannot figure out how to tell the program where to end the song. It just runs forever until i click stop. Also, I cannot figure out how to delete the blank spaces at the beginning and in the middle of the tracks without moving the rest of the track, which puts it all out of time. I've spent hours trying to do this, with zero success. Any advice? Thanks!

I'm not a pro tools man i'm afraid.. However, i'm sure it will have left and right markers. Go to your timebar at the top of your recordings, and try and find the R and L marker. If you cant see anything, have a look near your playback controls and see if there is any timecode for L or R. Type in R the time you want your piece to stop and you should see it appear.

If your all finished, just highlight it and bounce it down though,

Hope that helps, sorry i couldn't be more pin point.

you just need to select the portion you want to bounce. The reason it keeps bouncing way off in the distance is because you have some sort of automation or region way out there. Just use the selector tool and select what you want to keep and bounce that.
