EMU 1820m vs. M-Audio Firewire 1814

Firewire vs. PCI doesnt really matter to me. Which one of these cards do you think has better sound as far as just the AD converters. I plan on using with the Voicemaster.

I've known about it for a couple months now I haven't seen the price change.
 
it usually happens when an item is being cleared out. i did notice that of all companies, dell has a $50 rebate on the 1820m.
 
So is there a replacement for the 1820m in the works? I considered getting one of these at one time, but was scared off by the driver stories and complicated patch mix software.

The replacement as far as I know will be the 1616M...
