Im parcial to the M-Audio products, Maybe it because I own one...... Never heard the EMU sound card.... I know that they make a great drum machine......EMU MP7 :D I know that didnt help but what the hell :D

i have a emu 1212m, and i am very happy with it. the effects that are on the dsp board, are pretty cool too

upon doing some searching i found a lot of negative reviews for the 1212 and i'm not to into that fact that 2 channels of inputs takes up two pci slots in my computer...

i'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the convertors in the 1212m blow the pants off of the m-audio.

however, the drivers for the m-audio products are infinitely more reliable.

edit: i own the 1820m and previously owned the delta 410

I own the 44 and it's a great card. If you need 4 analog inputs, there's not much that beats it for the price

If you've got ADAT stuff or you will soon, no question, the 1212M. If you've got SPDIF stuff, sure the E-mu.

If you don't, why are you even considering the E-mu? The 44 has none of that. If all you need is 4 analong ins and mature drivers, get the 44. If you need ADAT and SPDIF, get the E-mu. Simple.

sklathill said it best.. pick what you'll need

I just got the 1212m, and I am impressed with thte results, but I have not heard other cards in their price or quality range. I like the 2, 1/4inch ins and outs on the daughter card.
