emu 1212m problem

I have a emu 1212m soundcard 4 my computer and sometimes ill be listenin to music or recordin and it cuts out and starts makin this loud annoying sound. does anyone else have this problem or heard others mention this problem. i need to know if its my computer or the card alone.

I think I know the sound you're talking about.

Make sure you are using the updated EMU drivers (1.81), and have disabled any background apps that might boot on startup...espeically antivirus software.
Also, make sure you don't have any email or updates that run while you're working.

But ill just be listenin to music on my headphones while im surfin the net and it starts makin that noise. And i do have the updated version. So this is a Common thing 4 these cards???
