Mixing and Mastering.
This is a live recording of a band called Fragile. I am proud of this recording as it sounds pretty tight and clean as a live recording.
The vocals were overdubbed quickly and mixed in a rush.

song is called "LIVE TRACK"
click on link at bottom.
Cheers.

Hah. Cheers man thats my mates band on the live track. I recorded it at my bands rehersal room its an art studio with no room treatment at all.
Anyone got any comments on the recording/mixing of this live track?

It seems to have been tracked pretty well. I think the music(guit, bass, and drums) is a bit on the loud side, and hides some of the vocals. You might try and pull those down just a bit, and see if the vocals come out front more.
Only suggestion I have for you. Good job.
Ed

Cheers again Dogman. Suppose thats just my style of mixing to keep the backing more powerfull by having the vox a little quieter. I really rushed the vox mix as i didnt have much studio time. Wish i could have re-tracked the vocals so they were in tune!

I like the contrasts built into the instrumentation especially how the guitar tones play off one another. Vocal is really good, just has a few intonation problem spots. The EQ and levels of the mix sound perfect on my system.

Thanks alot Tim. If there was anything i couls change it would be the distorted guitars. They sound a bit grizzly and grainy if you know what i mean. Need to try out different distortion units for my next recording or maybe even the Marshall amp distortion although it is usually too muddy for SEROTONEs style of music.
Yeah the vocals were recorded in just two takes each as I was limited in my time in the studio. The whole album was a big rush actually and that isnt the best way to produce an album really.
Cheers.

Sorry completley ignore the last post from me as i got mixed up with the songs. The guitars are fine for a live recording, but could do with some layering overdubbs, but that would take away from the liveness of the recording.
