Apparently they're popular replacement speakers. Anybody have any experience with them? I'm looking for new speakers but I'm on a budget.

If its any help I just put in an Eminence Beta 12 inch 150 watt into an old amp that I was restoring, I worked on the assumption that although a lot of people say celestion is way better, my Fender speakers are made by Eminence and I love it to death. My PA is equiped with Eminence and I give it hell by sequencing everything thru it and it handles it with ease. So I went for the Beta, the results were more than I expected. So my few cents worth is go for it, I will be making another cab soon and that too will be Eminence.

Thanks for the help. I'm just trying to be cautious because most places don't except returns if the speakers suck.

Eminence has been in the business - bigtime - forever and makes a ton of speakers you never hear about.

Most of the people who say, "Eminence sucks!" are only familiar with the funky low-end stuff that winds up in OEM applications. They do have some really sorry, cheap replaement speakers, though. Check the specs, particularly the voice coil diameter and the magnet structure weight.

They also have some high-quality stuff.

More by accident than anything else, I got a new Eminence GB12 included in a recent deal and will have it Tuesday. To my surprise, I did some research and discovered that it's a clone of a low-watt 12" Greenback (thus "GB12"), even to the point of having the imported British cone. It's apparently pretty good, though not at all cheap. We'll see.
