Emcees: Step up to the challenge!

Alright, here's the deal. I'm feelin' generous, so as part of the grand opening of the Innovativesound.net website, I'm going to feature the emcee who does the best job rocking my beat Prodigy. Winner will get a front page link and promotion, a short interview, an article reviewing their material, and will have the song posted up on my www.mp3.com/soleternity website. Contest ends January 31st. Submit tracks to chris@innovativesound.net

If the song is tight enough, it most likely will grab a spot on the Soleternity mix tape.

Well I've got a bridge/prechorus done and pretty much got the chorus sorted, so I just need to do the verses - and with over a month I think I'll manage to get it done.

BTW, I could be bothered to look up "Prodigy" in the dictionary - and know I understand what it means, that'll help my lyircs along.

Even though I don't usually rhyme over other people's beats, I like the idea of a friendly competition.....

Just so I have an idea of numbers.

Oh, and does it matter about language in it?

i recorded the tracks, now i'll get some sleep. i'll do my best at attempting to mix the tracks together, should be ready tomorrow.

man, this is my first attempt at really trying to engineer. i know it's a lot of flaws, and that i should be shot steppin n 2 the arena half cocked with some novice material, but hey you gotta start somewhere. the limiting, compressing, reverbing, equing is very tedius for this newbie....to the engineering game that is:D

that no lights on joint was dope, i can see why that joint got copped. how did you incarporate the scratching in there? was it software?, or do you have that joint that looks like a turntable and allows you to scratch mp3's? holla back

I was just wondering if there was any main theme we had to stick to? Does the song have to match the beat name Prodigy, cuz someone mentioned that above. I'm writing something to this, but before I go any further, can ya get back to me on what the song has to be about? I was doing a story type thing.

As far as I can see, where he says "best job of rocking my beat" he just means that.

So I think you can do what the hell you want as long as you do a good job.

(BTW, it's beginning to look less and less likely for me to get something done in time - my PC's playing up for a start, pity really: I had everything perfect)
 
abyss is correct..

i did my scratches on my turntable.. which is outside of my keyboard.. which plays the records that i record my samples from.. lol damn, cats assume everything is computerized now days :(
