Well, enough people on this board that I respect use these puppies, that I had to buy a pair, because they are, after all, dirt cheap. I haven't had time to do A-B's or combine them with other mics, but my first impression is that their self noise needs to be tamed a bit. Turning the input gain down and close mic'ing helped, but they are honest, and reproduce finger noise really well. I liked them best when playing stuff where I don't move up and down the frets much- you know, key of G sort of thing. Fortunately, my room and instruments are very good. God, these things would suck with a cheap guitar! Has anyone else found self-noise a problem with these mics, and if so, do you have any suggestions?-Richie
