Hi folks, I've got an audiophile 2496 card on my PC, and I've just invested in a Behringer UB1204 mixer.

I know it's a very silly question but what type of cables connections do I need to get from line in's on soundcard to alt3-4 on mixer? They appear to phono plugs on the soundcard but 1/4" jacks on the mixer.

I presume I need 2 adapters? One for each cable?

You don't need adapters, you just need cables with a 1/4" jack at one end and RCA phono at t'other.

Brilliant, thanks Kevin - do you have any recommendations on good online cable suppliers?

Thanks again, Kevin -I'll make sure studiospares are on my list :)

i'll second studiospares... for cables at least. cheap delivery costs - muhahaha! they're cables are good and pretty cheap ... i think they're rack cases are pretty good as well. i hate the fact that they don't display VAT on the prices at first though - my brother had a hard time with them about a mic - took them 2 months to find out if they could get one, then rang up again saying "we've got one, but its in China. we expect it to come in about a month..." :p and it was badly priced in the first place. i prefer digital village for everything but cables... www.dv247.com, and dolphinmusic.co.uk has cheaper delivery, though i've never used them.

Yeah studiospares are really only any good for odds and ends, the prices on mics, outboard etc don't seem great and they don't have much of a range anyway. I've had good experiences with DV also but Thomann in germany get most of my gear money these days:

http://www.thomann.de/index.html?pa...ndex.html?sn=f99442daf52b161a0c02cdbff8c9b69f

They only charge €10 (about £7) shipping to the UK, DV charges £10 shipping. Their prices are generally very good and they have a good range of gear.

As an example they sell the DMP-3 preamp for £107, DV sell it for £166 so quite a difference. And not only do they stock the RNC (not widely available in this neck of the woods) but they sell it at a reasonable price too.
