Any One Do This? Is This "cool" Or Just Another Way To Spam People N Piss Off Folk?

This Dude I Met Was Like . .. Do Some Email Blasts About Your New Single . . . ???

some will call it spam others will call it publicity take your pick.....the way i see it is if it can get you paper why not do it? there are no rules when sending e-mails if they don't want it then they will just toss it out

The rule is to email folks that sign up for your newsletter or mailinglist. That's not spam.

Also, if you do send an email blast just to emails put this at the bottom.

"If you wish to no longer get this newsletter, click here". "We do not support SPAM." Or say reply to this email.

This way you are showing you do not spam and have people to choice if they want the emails or not.

I got two people who email me like this, I copyied the addresses and sent like 200 people my own shit haha

Good question indeed. My opinion is to not do it, if people like your shit, they'll buy it. If they haven't even heard of it, they'll find it. Let the people come to you, don't go to the people. That's how you get a lot of fans calling you arrogant / cocky, or they want you to back down. But, then again, there is a crap load of artists out there, that if they have your e-mail, or you have them added on MySpace or something, you get about 50 comments a day about their songs, or something like that.

Do as you wish, and what you think will get _you_ where you want to be. If that's spamming e-mail inboxs, then so be it. Just don't do it to mine, because I'll hit you back, only with a flood. ;) :P jk.

As always, be cool.
