Emagic Logic and Win XP?

hi,

I just purchased the Roland VM3100pro studio package that comes with the Emagic Logic RPC win/pc software. Unfortunately Logic requires Win95/98, whereas I have a Win XP machine! Neither the Roland nor Emagic tech support could offer me a solution other than buying a new software.

Any ideas how I could get Logic to run on my Win XP machine? I heard that there is a trick to get Win98 software running in Win XP. Any ideas??

Hi there,

Win XP has a compatibility mode which may or may not work for you.

Create a shortcut to Logic on the desktop. Right mouse click. Properties. Compatibility mode select Win98. Tell us if it worked.

i beleive only logic audio version 5 works with winxp so far
the earlier versions are not xp compatible

The version of Logic that came with my Delta 1010 works with XP.

I tried what john suggested (copying all the files from cd-rom to the hd, creating a shortcut on the desktop for the setup and changing the compatibilty to win98) -- worked perfectly! Thanks a lot!
