I got a free set from somewhere when they first came out, I really didn't care for the feeling of cobwebs wrapped around the strings. It really muffled the string tone to me.

Some friends of mine went crazy for them when they first came out so I gave them a try and they just didn't feel "right" to me.

I've played Dean Markley .12's for years now...

I have used Elixir Nanowebs for several years and love them. I get mine for about $10/set, which is fine by me. Last night we decided to tune our guitars down to B - it was soooooo loooooowwww and a little too muddy here and there - I was able to bend my strings like a freak, and no breaks. I play 9-46 gauge on all my electrics ( light top, heavier bottom) I use Finger ease, too, before and after playing, and my strings usually last many months. Who cares if they fringe a little where I pick??? It still sounds great.

I just tried a set of Phospho-Bronze Nanowebs on my Taylor, and I have to say that it sounds very sweet. I'd just had a set of D'addarios on it, and they'd gone dead inside of a couple of weeks. This is better, for me. The Phospho-Bronze Nanowebs are definitely a step up from their polywebs, no question in my mind.

my son bought me a set for my b'day and I put them on my 87PRS they suck...lost tone, deaden sound. I don't care, I'll change my strings twice a week before I use them again.

btw I use D'addario

No tone but they last a long time. I have no experience with acoustic I am talking about electrics.

Just no tone.....

Yeah... I loved them at first, but after a few weeks / a month they lost all high-end tone. Its partly my guitar (very bottom-heavy), and part the classic polyweb lost tone syndrome, I think...

Perhaps I'll try the Phosphor/Bronze nano's someone above mentioned... gonna have to order em though :(

I've used them before, I liked the warm tone on the acaustic but it didn't hold up for very long. I would spring for them again on the onset of recording, but playing mostly electric I opt for ernie ball 9s.
