As of lately I've noticed a ticking sound coming through my amps and computer speakers. I'm guessing a recent thunder storm or something messed up something in my electrical setup. A friend suggested I put my amp on a APC battery
backup/surge protector, he said they make for being good filters in this situation. I tried it and it quieted it down a bit but it is still there. Has anyone dealt with this type of problem and came up with a fix? The link below is
to a clip I recorded of this ticking.

...shot in the dark, but try unplugging everything else on the same circuit. It almost sounds like it could be a refrigerator or some other appliance (could easily come from a storm).

You could also look into a power conditioner (cheaper than an APC, and designed more for the kind of problems you're having). Plus, an APC that's rated high enough for an amp would be a small fortune :)
