hi there
i just bought an audiotrak maya44 mkII sound card in order to save my e-guitar sound in a more professional way, but some problems occurred.
the maya-output works fine, but the input doesn't. i first tried to connect my guitar to the amp and then to the card. result: the card didn't even notice the input. then i tried to connect guitar-effect tool (korg ax1500)-maya, result: defining the input as "line" in the maya control panel, i got a silent mono output with more or less acceptable quality, defining in as "mic", i got a stereo noise which doesn't deserve to be called output. my dream combination guit-korg-amp-maya had the same result, but i had to pull out the amp-out-cable a little to hear something. in both cases however the quality was more or less the same i had with my old sb live and a usual stereo cable.
so my questions are:
a) am i doing something wrong?
b) is everything ok and it's supposed to be like that? (in this case, i'd start practicing soundcard-throwing)
c) is the maya a good choice to record guitar tracks (according to quality)?
d) in the audiotrak forum, i read that a mono-jack to stereo-jack cable could solve this problem. what do you think?
hope you can help me, i'm quite desperate at the moment...
thanx alot & sorry about my english
