Electric Drumset noise.

I have an electric drumset in my room and the living room is right near so my parents can hear me playing. They are nice enough to allow me but I would like to alleviate their annoyance by stopping them from hearing it. The main problem is the bass and whenver I hit it it thumps on the floor. If anyone knows of something I can put under to stop that or atleast lessen it please feel free to tell me. I've tried blankets. they don't work so well. And also if anyone knows of good sound proof padding i could possibly put around my wall so the sound doesnt get through as much that would be great as well. Thank you in advance!
 
When you have any kind of question, you might find doing a search useful. There's at least ten years of archives. Not to say you should read all of it (I'd have to be in jail or hospital or held hostage to have that kind of time) but I reckon there's not many things that haven't been covered.
