Hi

Its been a year since I did any recording after a hand injury so trying to remember half the stuff on reaper I never learnt properly in the first place ?...one of which is applying an effect to just one portion of the song ...a rejig of my memory would be helpful.

Cheers
Mark

If the effect is set up on a parallel effects bus, use an envelope on the aux send feeding the effect.

You should still be able to use an envelope to automate the effect.

Note that certain effects work better on an effects bus. If you want to stop a reverb but let it decay, you need to cut the send rather than the output.

There are always several ways to do things in Reaper. - - @bouldersoundguy has one. I like to split the section out and add an FX window to it.

Sometimes I split sections out to a completely different track. It just depends on what I'm trying to achieve.

Just automate the 'wet' control of the fx plugin. I've done it to add a delay, a spot-EQ 'band-aid' and more.

Unless it's a reverb or delay with a long tail that you want to decay naturally.

Thanks for all the examples...this is probably as simple as I need it...seems to be same method as using volume envelopes. Perfect ?
