I use Acid pro to record on my pc, are there any effects I can use. A friend has a Tascam 10 track and he plugs his guitar right into it and records. IT as all different kind of effects for his guitar (ex. different amps, dist. chorus etc.). Is there any thing I can use to do this with Acid.

Acid comes with a lot of FX. You can apply FX to individual tracks or to the main bus. There's a little green square that is the plug-in chooser. Hit that and a list of FX you can add should come up. These can only be applied AFTER you record.

i've never used Acid before but the sony website says that acid does support direct X plug ins. That said, you can get a plug to act as an effects processor / amp modeler. There are many such plug ins out there. check out this one:

I don't know if this is VST or DX, and i don't know if acid supports VST or not. if it doesn't, you can get programs that turn VST plug ins into DX (direct X) plug ins. They are called VST wrappers.

Acid support DirectX for sure, and, I think, VSTi. But like I said before, it comes already loaded with FX!

I have used the effects that come with Acid but dont really like the way they sound, maybe a need a better sound card or something. But I appreciate the information.

It must be your soundcard, 'cause those are good FX plug-ins. Unless you've only got the "ExpressFX" ones, you should be getting good results.

Thanks it probably is my soundcard.
I was just wanting to get some different sounds rather than my amp. i would like to be able to plug my guitar direct and use effects from the program.
