Hey Geoff... I wasnt implying that I could make one in any shape or form. That would be instant disaster.
But, I am going to request that you email me your address, with a parts list, and I will buy all the parts, package them up, mail them to you with $100, and you can make me a nice two channel compressor. :)
my email address is paul@demokingproductions.com

Mine can be your prototype :)
Something along a Distressor style will be just fine. I want some iron in it too, I think.

Paul

Hi Paul

I'd rather point you in the direction of circuits that you can dowload and build for yourself. You'd get a real kick out of using something that you'd built yourself.

I'm up to my armpits in designs for stuff we are bringing out in 2004, including a compressor... and it won't be a Neve knock off either... the Neve compressors are a little too noisy because of all the gain they have to make up after throwing 40dB away.

It will be class A though....

:)

Geoff, when you get a chance if you could email or pm me regarding circuitry design (where to find) I'd be most appreciative....Greg

Heck, just post the links here... :D

Is the snarling dog thing your regular persona, Dethska, or do you save it for discussion boards?

Sorry, but I take issue with people saying what is and what isn't good for this board when they have only been here a few days.

I apologize for the snarling dog approach. I admit it wasn't the most tactful course of action. Consider that my snotty, infantile post.:D

As a newcomer to this particular board, I shouldn't have made a pronouncement about what I believed was harmful to this (or any) board. I am of the opinion that civil discourse is important. I was out of bounds to suggest it was important here.

Thanks, Geoff. I'd seen the stuff at THAT corp, but not the Optoelectronics paper. Great read!

So, I am confused...Did I say your ears sucked? Did I say your ears are shitty? I looked back and while I tried to find those exact words you used, I was unable to locate where I said that.

If you insist on using those words, then you go right ahead. I will not stop you. What you are not is a design engineer, and as far as terms of quality of build, you are no where near qualified to make any of the comments you just made as they are based on having no knowledge of design and or how to lay out a product to build. So be sure to say that you are offering an opinion of what you know nothing about when you make these claims.

When George Schilling makes those claims in his review, you should know he is qualified, which is why he is who he is. Of course you can surprise all of us by showing us your EE degree and some products you have designed and built.
So Professor Alan... what brought you to believing only famous people can hear good? And no one needs to be famous or have a degree in sandbox 101A to know your salesmanship sucks ass and your nothing more than a self proclaimed master wizard who is trying to buy his way to fame.

the more links show up here, the more surprised I am. This guy really went and post his issue with alan everywhere. Makes me wonder if he did it cuz he is pissed or to send caution out to other people that advertise for tfpro.

anyway, steve, I am not taking sides here, both of you have been really kind to me in terms of offering information/services. Wish things will end up a little nicer than it is right now.

As for Osraves comments, they are not worth responding to. If I do, it will only turn ugly. I am fine with what he thinks he knows. [/B]

Uh, right. Ozraves only said he did not like the Joe Meek products, and you pull the same shitbag dirty move on him as everyone else that disagrees with your cheap lower-than-behringer products. Take your dirty spamming and simply go away.

Did Alan just post something, then delete it? Damn, I missed it.

Dude... it's all over the internet... and it looks like a PMI boycott may come into play also.

I've been using the TFpro Edward the Compressor long enough to know I'm going to give it a "RECOMMENDED" rating. It might get a "HIGHLY RECOMMENDED." It's kind of on the border right now with me. We're going to use it on some mixes soon by a guy with an AE degree of all things. :)

Sorry, no good but a nice try. The MAN said you need an EE degree, can't you read plain english?

huh?

All I can say is WOW.

I've now read the links to posts on several different forums all over the web & I can't believe what I'm seeing.

Many people are jumping on a bandwagon to NOT buy Studio Projects & PMI distributed stuff.

Why? Because the man is protecting whats legally his.
Ted fletcher sold the rights to something, then continued to develop it. With probably the same electronics, definitely the same design, and is marketing it with a simlar name.. PROMEEK.

Now, if you worked your ass off in the chicken business, bought kentucky fried chicken inc, The exclusive rights to the secret recipe, striped buckets, colonels sanders signature, face & all..

& a few months later the old colonel (yeah I know he's dead) starts a company with the same recipe, striped buckets with a different color, uses his signature & markets it as 'chicken thats kentucky fried'..

You'd probably be furious and sue the old bastard.
As well as do your best to prevent anyone from marketing it.

----

Anyone who 'boycotts' a great product trying to 'make a statement' is only hurting themselves..

Especially if its by not having great sounding reasonably priced mics their studio.. (Because the company is vigilant in protecting its assets)!
