Hi again, i have a new question

what are the steps needed to edit voices in cool edit to mix it with a music track (instrumental) ?

i use some options/effects like amplitude, reverb. maybe noise gate

any ideas?

If you want to add a vocal to an already existing instrumental track, first get the best quality recording of the vocal you can - good mic, good preamp, good room, good singing. Then you won't have much work to do in the mix later on. Vocals are usually panned center, and depending how important the vocal is in the context of the song, it's usually a bit louder than the instruments. As for reverb, you can get the vocal to stand out a bit by putting a bit less reverb on it than you put on the instruments. Also, vocals are very often compressed a bit (2:1, 3:1?), which allows you to raise the overall volume of the vocal track (which allows the quieter parts to be heard more clearly).

There is a cool plug-in for CEP. It's Sci-fi something. It's for wierd voice altering effects but it's cool.
