Hi- need help, have to get this project done for the students. I have Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 and have recorded piano students playing live, so there is only one track in stero. I was using the scissors in audio view to clip out notes that were wrong, where the children playing had hit a wrong chord and then rewacked it agin with the right chord. On Monday, I could go into audio view and use the scissors for a split at the exact point I wanted it and then go on the other side of the mistake and then delete it out. NOW THE PROGRAM WILL ONLY ALLOW CUTS EXACTLY AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MEASURE, it was allowing me to go in the middle of the measure, but now it will only percisely work at the begging of the measure and the mistake isn't at the begging. any ideas, I know i must have pressed something?
I am using windows XP home-

thanks

It's the Snap settings. You can set the editing tools to snap to measures, beats, or subdivisions thereof. It makes it simpler to grab chunks of notes when you're editing MIDI data; not very useful for audio.

So toggle it OFF. Howe? Look it up in the online help or in the manual... it's there...

That SHOULD be absolutely correct. Let us know if it still doesn't work.

BTW- right click on the measure bar at the top and click "snap properties" to correct...just a little incidental.

Happy Holidays,

K
