i was just wonder if anyone knows or has an opinion on which program is a better editor, cool edit or gold wave? i've only used gold wave and it seems pretty good. also does anyone know the benifit of registering gold wave? it seems effective without it.

I have them both and I stopped using GoldWav when I got CoolEditPro. There is one or two minor things gold wav offers that CEPro doesnt but For the most part I only use the CoolEdit.

Im not sure about registering the Goldwav. Ive just used the demo to. I dont know that there is a big difference.

thanks dan! isn't coo edit pro mucho denero; do you know how good cool 2000 is (is there much difference between pro and 2000)? i'm on a low-low budget.

Sorry JJ9 but Im not sure how much either of them are. To be honest with you the way I get most of my computer programs like this one is not at all legal. If you dont have alota cash and you have hacker, computerhead freinds its a good deal. My one freind has a hacker program or somthing that will disable all programing blocks on CD software that will allow you to copy anything on CD to another CD with some good equipment. I dont know anything about it Im like a novice with programing.

I finally got GoldWave registered. No more annoying nag screens, or sessions getting stopped by timing out. Nice.

GoldWave is very very close to becoming a top-of-the-line audio editor. If Chris Craig would offer plugin support, real time auditioning of effects, and ASIO drivers, that software would be brilliant!!! I also feel that the dynamic processors could be a little more straight forward.

Cool Edit seemed clumsy in comparison. The coolest thing about it was the scrooling view where your marker stays right in the center as the file plays.

For $40 GoldWave is a steal. With registering you get free upgrades for life with it. Chris Craig told me in a email that the new version should offer some of the above mentioned things. We will see. If anything, you can feel good that you have helped him develope the product.

yeah the gold wave demo seems cool. if they add realtime effects i think i might get it. any idea when the new version or at least a list of the new features will be available? thanks for the info!

I'd stay away from anything Syntrillium offers... They seem to be dying... Support is not in their vocabulary...

The dude would not reveal when the new version of GoldWave would come out. We will just have to patiently wait.

Ed
