My Edirol UA25 recording interface had been in storage since I moved. I took it to my practice room yesterday, hooked it up, and there was this nasty hum coming from all of the audio-outs. I thought it was damaged.
I'd used it on that computer before without problems, but at a different location. To test it, I tried it at home on a different computer. There were no problems.
So, I'm thinking that the power coming out of the walls is problematic, and it's introducing noise thru the power supply, into the usb, and out the speakers. Does that sound feasible? It's an old building; used to be a nursing home. Thanks. ~p
