Hello,
I am looking to add a set of "Inexpensive" Monitor speakers to my recording setup.
Does anyone have experiance with the Edirol Ma-10a monitors?
Are they any good at all?

Thanks for your help!

Yup, they are my nearfields (I know, budget).

They are not bad at all for the money, but don't think you'll get studio nearfield monitors. They are not quick on the transients and the bassresponse pretty horrible. They are far better than any multi media or cheap 5.1 surround sound set but make sure you do your final mix on some better monitors.

While in a local music store, I happened to hear one of the staff testing out a new low-budget monitoring system from Tascam (satellites and sub, $100). I only listened for a minute, but I have to admit that it sounded pretty good--for the price and size. A sub adds a lot to such small systems.

Hey thanks for the advice guys and sorry I didnt respond sooner.
I am going out to the east coast this summer so I will probably buy a set of monitors then.... Reason being that I havent found a dealer in the MN area that has Edirol monitors and I like pissing off the SamAsh guys and making them work for it!

I did hear the satlites, nice but I forgot to say I would like a portable set of speakers as well.
SO, Thanks again and I will report in when I buy them.

I have the 10D's. They are budget but do a good job for a quick reference.
