Yeah, another This or That question. Poll to follow...?
Basically, I'm looking to upgrade, and I'm thinking I'm going to be wanting at least 8 line ins. Thinking of doing the undoable and buying a Behringer mixer -- yeah, I know, this coming from a Berry hater. But it's affordable and has 8 direct outs, so.... It's the Xenyx 2442FX, btw.
So what are we thinking? Firewire or PCI? The 1010 is $20 more from Sweetwater, so not a big price difference. I'm getting Hayley's old PC (not too old, just not new) and compeltely cleaning it off and out to use just for recording. I don't know the specs on the PC, though, but I do know it's got a ton of random I/O stuff on it -- all sorts of removable card slots, lots of USB and Firewire.
Anyway, enough rambling. What do we think?
