Hi,
I'm working with Reaper since 2 weeks and now I want to buy a guitar USB interface and I wonder what to buy between Edirol UA25-EX (which is not a guitar special interface but a generic one I guess) and the Line 6 UX1 which is particularly made for guitar with a collection of guitar effects coming with POD software.
The main difference between them is that UA25-EX seems to be technologically higher with its balanced output, analog compressor and aluminium body, but the effects coming with the bundled software seems to be general purpose and not specially for guitar.
On the other hand, the real advantage of Line 6 is the POD's guitar effects that everybody seems to agree to be really good. They're also a lot more than the Edirol one.
Now, my questions is:
If with Reaper, I can have all the effects I want, I see no point to go with Line 6. But if the Line6 effects sound can't compare to Reaper's effects, then I can sacrifice built quality for effects present in Line 6.
Also, being a newbie in recording, if Reaper's effects are good but hard to adjust for a newbie, I'd go with Line 6 provided its effects are pre-adjusted for guitar.
Any recommendation ?
Thanks
