ECM 8000 Pop Shield

Just got my new pair of Behringer ecm 8000's today. I'll mainly use them for overheads and a bit of acoustic guitar.

They come with a small pop shield that you can attach to the front of the mic. With this on does the sound get affected or lose any frequencies?

Would it be better to leave it on or off?

I haven't ever even tried those pop stoppers, but they definitely would cut some high end out. Unless you're using them for vocals or in windy conditions, there's no reason to use them.
 
Yup, they're used usually for taking measurements in windy environments, and they will cut some of the high end, though not as much as you'd expect.
